With seven games left to play in a pulsating La Liga campaign, Hansi Flick’s Barcelona are striding towards a defence of their 2024/25 title, and Matchday 33 promises to be another big day as the season races towards its climax.
The La Liga 2026 betting odds have shifted quickly towards Catalonia in recent weeks as the Blaugrana have relentlessly picked up wins, while Real Madrid have faltered. And both the El Clásico giants are in action in a full midweek programme in the Primera División, while there’s a fascinating clash at the other end of the table kicking off on Thursday.
Barcelona vs Celta Vigo
On Wednesday, the Blaugrana will welcome Celta Vigo to the Spotify Camp Nou Stadium knowing that a victory would be another huge step towards the title, while visitors Celta Vigo could climb to fifth with a win. But while Flick’s men have been in scintillating form in the league, the Celestes have been inconsistent and are in danger of failing to match last season’s seventh-placed finish.
Barcelona have won six from six in the Primera Division while Celta Vigo have won two, drawn one and lost three, and they have a resurgent Real Sociedad snapping at their heels. Both teams have recently crashed out of Europe, Barcelona narrowly beaten in the Champions League by Atletico Madrid, while Celta were beaten twice in the Europa quarter final by SC Freiburg. And sandwiched between those two Euro losses Vigo were beaten by Real Oviedo to make it three defeats on the bounce, and I strongly suspect that is about to become a run of four.
For Barca, Ferran Torres is in fine form and Lamine Yamal too has impressed both are looking forward to representing Spain at the World Cup in two months’ time, while the evergreen Robert Lewandowski has also found his shooting boots, scoring the winner in a recent league victory over Atletico.
Barcelona Asian Hanndicap -1.50 is priced at 2.05.
Real Madrid vs Deportivo Alaves
On Tuesday, Real Madrid have the chance to close the gap to six points when they host Alaves. Los Blancos’ title challenge has fallen off the rails, with a mixed set of La Liga 2026 results allowing Barcelona to pull nine clear. Three wins, one draw and two losses from six is not title-winning form and Real Madrid also crashed out of the Champions League last week, losing to Bayern Munich.

With Kylian Mbappe leading the race for the Golden Boot, on 23 goals, and Arda Guler impressing with a brace against Bayern, Los Blancos have plenty to do to make up to their fans in what began as a hopeful campaign that may end up in tatters.
Alaves are in a precarious position, 17th in the La Liga table but they have improved of late, unbeaten in four, but with only one win in six league games. And the visitors will fight for their lives at the Santiago Bernabeu which makes them a dangerous opponent.
With Los Blancos heavily odds on to win this clash, the Double Chance: Alaves or Draw is at SBOTOP odds of 3.75, and that outcome would surely put and end to the title race.
Levante vs Sevilla
This relegation battle on Thursday is a real six-pointer as Levante, currently 19th, could climb to within two points of 16th placed Sevilla with a win and, with three victories from their last six league games the hosts have gained a lot of confidence. Los Granotes won promotion back to the Primera Division, winning their league last term and it took them time to settle. But manager Luis Castro has got them playing with more conviction and, with just four points to make up on 17th place and Alaves facing Real Madrid this week, Levante have it all to play for and they will try to heap more worry on Sevilla.
The visitors ended a run of two draws and three defeats with a much-needed win over Atletico Madrid last time out, a surprise result though Los Rojiblancos have their eyes on the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. They finished 17th last season and, though Sevilla started better this term, they would probably accept that position right now to avoid the nightmare scenario. But this trip to Valencia is bound to be full of nerves and the team which can keep its cool the most will come out on top.
The draw, at SBOTOP odds of 3.20 would suit Sevilla more than their hosts; but I think the visitors have enough quality to build on a good result from last week.
